The Old Vicarage Dolfor is situated in the Montgomeryshire hills above Newtown in the County of Powys, Mid Wales, close to the Shropshire border.
It is an area of outstanding natural beauty, an ideal stopover for travellers heading North, South and to the Welsh coast and for those you just want to relax and explore the magic of the region. Everyone knows of the Breacon and Snowdonia National Parks but Mid Wales' Cambrian Mountains are arguably an even more beautiful unspoilt wilderness.
There is a strong eco- drive with The Centre for Alternative Technology in Machynlleth spearheading this movement, and there may be more organic growers per head of population in Mid Wales than anywhere else in Wales.
An area of lakes, mountains, forests, myths and legends, rich in historic castles emphasising the area’s history of conflict, defending against Roman, Saxon, Norman and English invaders.
