Powys is a haven for cyclists and walkers. From off-road to on-road, in town or delightful countryside, for the dedicated enthusiast or the casual day tripper, this part of Wales has just about everything. Choose from the miles of quiet country lanes and byways, or traffic free routes around towns or wild off-road tracks.
Powys also has a wealth of history, wildlife and legends, which you will probably pick up along the way. It’s a land of contrasting beauty from hidden valleys, lush green hills and tranquil lakes to dramatic mountains, turbulent rivers and isolated upland moors. Criss-crossing its patchwork fields, farms, hedgerows and bustling market towns, there are hundreds of paths and lanes taking you to areas you’d never find in the car.
Sustrans is the charity that's enabling people to travel by foot, bike or public transport for more of the journeys we make every day. They are responsible for creating the National Cycle Network (NCN) and we are ideally situated at a half way point just off NCN Route 81 Lôn Cambria which crosses the heart of Mid Wales between Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury.
