The Old Vicarage Dolfor

5 Star Accommodation for Mid Wales & the Shropshire Border

Welcome to this former Victorian Vicarage built in 1880, beautifully transformed into a Guest House & Restaurant by Tim & Helen Withers. Whether you're looking for luxury bed & breakfast, the extra services of a guest house, small hotel, restaurant with rooms or a fine dining experience based on local produce; The Old Vicarage Dolfor can accommodate you with warm hospitality.

Open since June 2006 this beautiful Mid Wales accommodation has now attained a 5 star status awarded by Visit Wales and is an ORGANIC PLACE TO STAY.

The restaurant is open every day, all year round to residents and non-residents by prior arrangement.

  • Lunch is at 1 o'clock for a minimum of  6 persons. From £19.50 for 3 courses.
  • Dinner 7.00pm - 9.00pm. £25.00 for 3 courses.

The Old Vicarage Dolfor is set high amongst the hills overlooking Newtown with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and the Berwyn Mountains to the North.

This is the Central Welsh Marches in the ancient county of Montgomeryshire. The perfect location for exploring Mid Wales and Shropshire.

Some would describe The Old Vicarage as a Restaurant with Rooms. Yes food is an obvious passion but Tim & Helen also welcome those discerning travellers looking for luxury, quality, warmth and friendly hospitality.

The Accommodation

The three bedrooms are individually designed by Briony Cooper of Shrewsbury and bathrooms are luxuriously fitted out with Lefroy Brooks' suites, under-floor heating. Guest amenities are by Crabtree & Evelyn. All have LCD flat screen televisions, hair dryers and bathrobes. Complimentary mineral water, sherry, afternoon and early morning tea are also available.

The Restaurant

The dining room has been classically decorated, offering fine candlelit dinners on polished antique tables. In Winter the experience may be enhanced by the glow of an open log fire. Equally the room is perfect for a leisurely breakfast, benefiting from the morning sun and a view over the front garden and the hills beyond.
